Ghana has the oldest and largest program. It started with volunteer staff in 1998. In 2001, the first full-time staffs were hired to operate in a small office located in Tamale, Northern Region of Ghana.
As at January 2007, SEND Ghana staff number 52 of which more than 30 percent are women and over 50 percent are professional staff with university degrees. SEND Ghana has three operational offices located in Accra, Tamale and Salaga. Its annual budget for 2007 is more than $2 million.
